EIP - Evidence Informed Practice

Page history last edited by Geoff Owen 3 months ago

A way of working where decisions about how to meet the needs of service users are informed by an understanding of :

    1. the best available research evidence about what’s effective
    2. practice expertise (built up through learning from operational experiences)
    3. views of service users themselves (about their expectations, preferences and the impact of their problems and of our interventions)

ie. making sure these 3 are considered and combined with other factors in the complex process of making judgements, proposals and decisions.

Organisations that support and promote eip:

research in practice

research in pratice for adults
